Laura McMahon is a member of Bafta Crew 

and has worked with BBC, Viacom and
the Guardian as well as winning the Edinbugh

TV Festival's New Talent Award.

In 2021 so far she has completed a sold out run of her Edinburgh show as well as directed 2x Laugh Lessons for BBC3.

2021 has seen Laura complete a sell out run of her Edinburgh show 'One of the Gals' which now has a residency at Canal Cafe Theatre. As well as a regular hosting gig for her bi- monthly night 'I  Probably Shouldn't Say This' at Crouch End Arthouse Cinema.

She is also performing her show at the Women in Comedy Festival, Manchester.

Laura gained her first finalist credit just six months into stand up as The Stand's New Act of the Year competition and has since worked with Soho Theatre on their Comedy Lab Plus Program.

She was semi-finalist in So You Think You're Funny is a regular at themoth.org’s Story Slam.

 

In 2020 she won South Kensington Comedy Club's 'Go New York' Stand Up competition which sent her to gig in New York.

Her 2019 Edinburgh show was selected for the Historical Preservation of the Fringe Archive's for the Museum of Scotland.

Laura is an excitingly fresh and talented comedian who is making a strong entrance onto the comedy circuit. She exude’s a level of confidence that puts the room at ease.

In 2021 so far Laura has directed 2x BBC Laugh Lessons. Her writing has made the Commendation List for development for Sister Pictures and SOTR’s Screenshot Competition.

In 2019 she won the Edinburgh TV Festival's New Talent Award and was nominated for Manchester Pilot Light's Best Comedy Award. This work was picked up by Comedy Central which she Associate Produced and went onto win a Broadcast Digital Award.

She has had work screened at the BAFTA Qualifying London Short Film Festival and has been in the top 20 of the Funny Women Film Award 2018, 2019 and 2020.
